JAPPLICATION SERVER (JAS):

It is a complement (a set of libraries) for any application server that supports the JRE in order to offer the necessary services so the programs (java classes) constructed with the JFB and JRB can be executed.

• JAS was constructed to support high levels of concurrence
• JAS offers a wide set of built-ins to do the majority of operations that are done in Oracle forms 6i and reports 6i
• JAS offers additional functionality that goes further than that of Oracle Developer 6i
• JAS offers the possibility of executing processes in the background
• JAS has a form manager to offer information about the connected users with forms loaded in the server and the amount memory that is being used by the JVM in the application server
• JAS solves the communication problem between the client and the server in order to let the programmer focus on solving the business logic issues by not having to deal with the complexity of the development JEE
• JAS enables you to program 100% in JPL/SQL and translates the resulting code automatically to Java
• JAS also lets you develop using 100% java or 100% JPL/SQL or any combination of those two languages
